    EZ LYNK

    EZ LYNK AutoAgent 3 Installation Guide

    EZ LYNK’s AutoAgent  3 is a universal vehicle communication device that allow you to diagnose, monitor, and program your vehicle. They use cloud based technology to allow you and your mechanic/technician to communicate or transmit data in real-time.

    Living up to the brand name, EZ LYNK has made the installation process simple. We’ve broken down each step and provided some valuable information that will help you understand how your AutoAgent works.

    Make sure you have a charger on the truck with good batteries (clean all terminals etc.) or go buy a new battery if not. Make sure there are no aftermarket accessories on the truck or have their fuses pulled.

    INSTALLATION STEPS FOR RAM, NISSAN, CHEVY & FORD - SEE FURTHER BELOW FOR ECO DIESEL & 2.8L DURAMAX.

    Step One
    Download & Install the AutoAgent App

    The AutoAgent app is available for most smart devices. It requires iOS 8+ or Android 5+ to operate. You can download the iOs app here and the Android app here.

    Step Two
    Create an Account

    From the AutoAgent app, select ‘create an account’. You will need to verify that your email address is valid upon creation. Dealers should always create an account for the end-user or use the account that the end-user has already created.

    Step Three
    Place Your Key in the ‘Run’ Position

    Turn your key all the way over without starting the vehicle. This will boot your vehicle’s engine computer allowing the AutoAgent to communicate with it. If you have a push-to-start vehicle, you should press the Start button twice.

    Step Four

    Plug the AutoAgent into your OBD-II Port

    With the key in the ‘Run’ position, plug your AutoAgent into your vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostics port. You can verify that it has booted correctly when you see that a blue and green light are illuminating from the device.

    Step Five
    Connect to your AutoAgent from your Smart Device

    Navigate to the WiFi settings of your smart device and select the ‘EZLYNK_####’ network. A check mark will appear next to the network name when you have successfully connected. The AutoAgent 2 also allows you to connect via Bluetooth.

    Step Six
    Open the AutoAgent App

    After you’ve successfully connected, you can navigate back to the AutoAgent app. You should now be able to see your vehicle gauges.

    Step Seven
    Lynk your Vehicle

    When you purchase from us or one of our authorized dealers, your vehicle will be AutoLynked. If your smart device has cellular data, you will notice that a message has appeared asking you to lynk the vehicle. Follow these prompts to connect your vehicle with your mechanic/technician. If your smart device does not have cellular data, you will need to connect to an internet available network and re-open the app to complete the lynking process.

    Step Eight
    Program Your Vehicle

    After completing the lynking steps you are ready to flash your vehicle. Navigate to  > Vehicle > ECU Profiles. Here you can view the list of tunes or ECU profiles that are available to you. Tap the  button to download your desired ECU profile, followed by the ‘Install’ button to flash your vehicle. The app will guide you through the flashing procedure. (When using a smart devices without cellular data you will need to switch to an internet available network to download the ECU profile, then back to the EZ LYNK network to install the ECU profile.)

    EZ LYNK INSTRUCTIONS

    ECO DIESEL & 2.8L DURAMAX EZ LYNK INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Flash Truck BEFORE installing any other parts
    2. Hook up a Battery Charger and set it to lowest charge
    3. Plug Auto Agent into your OBDII port
    4. Connect to AutoAgent via Wifi
    5. Connect to your Technician
    6. Go to ECU Profiles & Flash Your Tuning

    Step 1

    Buy an EZ-Lynk with Limited or Unlimited Support.

    Step 2
    Tune your truck before removing the hard parts. Make sure that you tune your truck before you even think about removing any parts. This way, if you have any trouble tuning your truck, you’re not dead in the water with a broken truck until Monday morning when we open back up.

    Step 3
    Hook up a battery charger. Before you start, grab your battery charger and hook it up to the truck, doesn’t matter if you have brand new high-end batteries and you just finished trickle charging them to 100%. If you don’t have a battery charger, get one and set it to a 10A charge. The new ECM’s are very sensitive to voltage and the flash can fail if the voltage drops too low.

    Step 4
    Download the EZ-Lynk App. Go to the
    App Store or the Google Play Store and download the EZ-Lynk Auto Agent App. Once the app has been downloaded and installed you can go ahead and make an account.

    Step 5
    Plug the EZ-Lynk into your OBDII. You’re ready to plug in the EZ-Lynk into your OBDII port under the dash. If you’re flashing a 18+ Cummins you will need to connect the Bypass Cable at the same time. It only needs to be plugged in while you flash your tunes, however, it doesn’t hurt to leave it plugged in. In that case, you can run it through the firewall of the truck.

    Step 6
    Connect to the Auto Agent. Open your WIFI Settings and connect to the Auto Agent via Wifi on your phone or tablet. Once you are connected you can open up the app, and the Auto Agent should detect your VIN number and recognize the connection. You’ll need to link to the following technician:
    Sales@ecodieselusa.com Go ahead and accept this, it will now ask you for a little bit of information on your truck. Once completed your tuning files will be manually added to your device once you let us know everything is linked up. (IF YOU TEXT US AT 9PM ON A SATURDAY PLEASE DON'T EXPECT FILES RIGHT AWAY!) You’ll start to get push notifications as each file comes through into your account.

    Step 7
    Flash Your Tuning. Now that you’re connected, the app will default to the main dashboard. From there you can select the button on the top left of the screen which will drop down a menu. From there, you select your vehicle, your truck should show up as the vehicle and give you a list of further options. Select ECU Profiles from that screen, this is where your tune files are stored, you’ll see a list of files.

    Now that you know what you’re doing, you can go ahead and select the tune file you want to use on your truck. There is a cloud button to the right of the file name, it will pull the tune from the cloud and save it to your phone.

    Phone

    You’ll need Cell Service to download the tune files to your device.

    Tablet

    You’ll need to disconnect Wifi from the Auto Agent and download these tune files via Wifi, then connect back to the EZ-Lynk Wifi after you’ve downloaded the tune.

    • Once the file is downloaded, you can press install and the EZ-Lynk will guide you through a Key On, Key-Off Procedure and the truck will flash. Once the tune has flashed into the truck, it will now say Installed under the tune file.

    • Once the truck is flashed you are good to go. You can use the chat feature to connect directly to your technician and ask any technical questions you may have. You'll also be able to send your Data Logs to your technician if you're having any issues and they will be able to diagnose and possibly solve the problem without you bringing the truck into a shop.

    • If you don't plan on monitoring your parameters on your phone, you can unplug the EZ-Lynk. You only need it plugged in when you're using the App to monitor, flash, or diagnose.

    • The main dashboard is where you can view the parameters, the tiles can be adjusted and moved to your preference by holding your finger down on any tile and choosing from a list.

    Support Pack Only

    • If you already own an EZ-Lynk Auto Agent and just purchased a support package, you can add a technician to any account by clicking the top left button in the app and selecting 'Technicians'. There is a plus sign under this selection and you can manually type in any technician account (their email) from here.

    • If the tuner has selected to auto-populate the files, as soon as it's linked, the Auto Agent will detect what truck you have and push you all the tune files for your truck.

    • Now that you're all flashed up, you can go ahead and shut down the truck and install your Other Parts. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out, we'd be happy to walk you through it over email or a phone call.

    H&S MINI MAXX DURAMAX ERROR CODES 312 & 316

    When attempting to install an H&S Mini Maxx on your 07-10 Duramax and you get code 312, go to show settings & hold down bottom left key 10 seconds then a screen will pop up. Enter unlock code 0468.

    Then select reset unit then go directly to install down load, do NOT re select truck and year.

    Error code 316:

    This code means that the tuner isn't communication with my ECM and there must be a tune on the truck or has been a tune on it in the past. Your truck will first need flashed back to stock at your local dealer before before the Mini Maxx will install.

    H&S MINI MAXX UNRECOGNIZED PART NUMBER ON 6.7L POWERSTROKE

    On the 2011-2015 6.7L Power Stroke, the H&S product will return to stock with your EXACT calibration that was originally on the vehicle. Because of this, and because Ford is constantly updating their calibration database (430 individual calibrations for the 11-15 6.7L Power Stroke at the time of this post), you may experience a message saying "unrecognized part number" on your H&S device. This thread serves as a solution to bypass this error message.

    Here are the steps:

    Write down the exact error that the H&S product gives you. It will look something like "DC20BMF.MM"

    Remove the SD card from your H&S product and insert it into a computer.

    For 2011-2012 model year trucks, open the folder "FORD67". For 2013-2014 models open "FORD13" and for 2015 choose FORD15 folder.

    Reference your error message written down previously and note the first 4 digits of the file name. Your device is telling you that we do not recognize the particular OEM calibration that is on your vehicle. The H&S is simply looking for that exact file name on the SD card, and then tuning will proceed. Match up the first 4 digits of your error message with the first 4 digits of any other file on the SD Card. There will be MULTIPLE files that match the first 4 digits, use ANY of them.

    BC20xxx = 2011 ECM
    BC33xxx = 2011 TCM
    CC20xxx = 2012 ECM
    CC33xxx = 2012 TCM
    DC20xxx = 2013 ECM
    DC33xxx = 2013 TCM
    EC20xxx = 2014 ECM
    EC20xxx = 2014 TCM

    Once you have selected a file that matches on the first 4 digits, make a copy of that file.

    Paste that copy into the same directory and rename that copy as the EXACT file name that your H&S gives in the error message. For instance, if my error message stated "Unrecognized part number DC20BMF.MM", I would rename the previously made copy of any "DC20xxx.MM" file as "DC20BMF.MM".

    Once the file is correctly named on the SD card, the H&S product will allow you to proceed with tuning. If you get another error message, your TCM file is likely unrecognized also (BC33xxx, CC33xxx, DC33xxx, EC33xxx).

    Proceed with the same steps above to rename a file already on the SD card to match your error message.

    ANSWERS TO MOST COMMON QUESTIONS BELOW

    H&S MINI MAXX | CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON

    The most common issue and overlooked thing when installing the H&S Mini Maxx is thinking the tune has been installed when in fact it has not been.

    If your check engine light is on after installing; 99% of the time its because you didn't not follow the on screen instructions properly. Read & Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's). If codes and check engine light are still on; verify the tune status: Go into the Menu < Settings < Tune Status.

    If tune status shows "Not Installed" go back and reinstall. It will ask if the DPF is present or DPF removed. Be sure to select DPF removed.

    H&S MINI MAXX | VEHICLE SELECTION INFINITE LOOP

    When installing the H&S Mini Maxx you must select your vehicle to load the proper tunes. In some instances it will continually keep asking even though you may have already selected it multiple times. This is a known issue, a rare issue, but we have seen it a handful of times. Send back the screen for warranty and we can swap it out for a new unit.

    H&S MINI MAXX | YES, IT WILL FIT A 2015 POWERSTROKE

    The H&S Mini Maxx will work on the 2008-2016 Ford Powerstroke Diesel. It's common knowledge the H&S Mini Maxx will work up to 2014. Rumors on forums and miss informed dealers/installers seem to think development of tunes stopped after 2014. However thats not the case. Our tuners are Fully up to date with the latest 2015 Powerstroke tunes available. See blog post on 2016 Powerstroke before purchasing for that year.

    Tech support & 1 year warranty are also included.

    H&S MINI MAXX | WILL NOT WORK ON 2015+ DURAMAX LML

    The H&S Mini Maxx will not work on a 2015 truck. For some unknown reason people purchase the Mini Maxx thinking it will work on a 2015+ GM Duramax. It will not. The Mini Maxx will only work on the 2011-2014 LML Duramax. Check your VIN before purchasing. The 10th digit will tell you the year. 2013 = D, 2014 = E, 2015 = F, 2016 = G. The pic below is the screen you will come across if attempting to install on a 2015+ model year truck.

    H&S MINI MAXX | UNRECOGNIZED PART NUMBER SPRA020.MM SPARTAN TUNER

    If when attempting to install an H&S Mini Maxx you come across Unrecognized Part Number "SPRAxxxx.MM" this indicated that a Spartan Tuner has been previously installed on the PCM. Spartan Tuners essentially hijack the the PCM and leave a footprint that prevents other devices from being downloaded. The truck needs to be re-flashed back to stock or "as built". Typically a diesel repair shop or dealer can take care of this using an Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS). After the PCM has been flashed back to stock as it came from the factory you can install the H&S Mini Maxx.

    Mini Maxx Tuner is stuck on initializing communication

    Simply press the top left button on tuner. If that does not work try unplugging and re-plugging in tuner and then retry.

    H&S MINI MAXX | CRANKCASE CODE 2016 FORD POWERSTROKE DIESEL 6.7L

    The H&S Mini Maxx will work on the 2008-2016 Ford Powerstroke. Some 2016 trucks are equipped with a crankcase ventilation sensor. When installing the H&S Mini Maxx this will set a check engine light & DTC. The truck will still run properly but you will have a check engine light.

    DPF DELETE EXHAUST | AM I MISSING A HANGER?

    Chances are your most likely not missing a exhaust hanger. A DPF Delete exhaust system is substantially lighter than the factory Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Since the weight of the DPF no longer needs to be supported the need for a hanger is no longer required.

    SCR SYSTEM DELETE

    Doing a SCR system delete is one of the best things you can do to increase the life of your diesel pickup truck. Improve reliability and dependability by getting rid one of the weakest links on the Ford Powerstroke, Ram Cummins & GM Duramax. Removing the SCR will also make it so you no longer need to run Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The SCR and DPF are deleted together and must be done with a DPF delete capable tuner.

    2015 OR 2015.5 DURAMAX LML | CHOOSE THE CORRECT EXHAUST SYSTEM

    2015 was a split year for the GM Duramax. 2011-2015 the downpipe was attached the turbo-direct pipe using a v-band clamp. 2015.5-2016 the downpipe was attached using a 3 bolt flange. Before purchasing a new DPF delete exhaust system be sure to visually verify the clamp style your truck is equipped with.

    RAM MEGA CAB | WHAT DELETE PIPE DO I NEED?

    What DPF delete pipe do I need for my Ram Mega Cab?
    The Dodge Ram Mega Cab uses the same DPF delete pipe as the short bed or crew cab long bed. Under Make Selection: Select "normal pickup"

    SHIPPING DAMAGE | MAKE IT WORK VS INSURANCE CLAIM

    Shipping a +80lb. box from one end of the country comes with its downsides. Sometimes the ends of exhaust pipes get bent or damaged. In most cases this can be easily fixed with a large crescent wrench. Other times it can look like a bomb exploded. If you get an exhaust system that's beyond repair, let us know and we will get it taken care of.

    What’s Better, T409 or T304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Components?

    It depends on where you live and what the part is being used for. When it comes to parts where appearance is important such as exterior accessories like grille guards, nerf bars and dress up trim like grilles and exhaust tips, 304 stainless is what you’ll most commonly find. 304 stainless steel has the most resistance to rust and when polished it becomes shiny like chrome. It is also the best choice for use in the harshest conditions. Any rust spots that develop can be far more easily polished away.

    Making the Right Exhaust Choice

    So why not choose 304 stainless for everything? One of the drawbacks is that it’s more expensive and may be overkill and not availabe for most diesel pickup trucks because 409 stainless is less expensive and easier to manufacturer. Though surface rust will appear on 409 stainless it holds up significantly longer than mild steel. For vehicles that don’t see salted roads or severe winters, 409 can be perfectly acceptable and save a few bucks to achieve equal levels of performance. Typically you see this material used in products under the vehicle like exhaust systems. Some exhaust manufacturers offer all 3 types of steel to give you multiple price points to choose from. So next time you see something labeled stainless steel, you might think twice and ask yourself just what type and what your intended use may be. The easiest way to tell which type a part is made from is by testing with a magnet: 409 stainless is magnetic and a magnet will stick to it while 304 is non magnetic. If you are unsure of what an item is made from and need more information, chat with us and we’ll be glad to help.

    MISSING PART OF MY ORDER | MULTIPLE ITEMS MAY SHIP SEPARATELY

    Did you order multiple items and only receive part of your order? We ship from various fulfillment centers, wholesale distributors and manufactures across Canada. In most cases the last item you receive is typically the exhaust system. We will upload tracking information ASAP. Thank you for your business!

    SCR DELETE | 2013+ DODGE CUMMINS 6.7L

    The Ram Cummins 6.7 is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. The SCR system requires the use of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). DEF is injected into the SCR catalyst where a reduction reaction occurs, converting nitrous oxides into water and nitrogen gas. This reduces both the EGR and DPF regeneration duty cycles. When a truck is new with low mileage this system works relatively well. If your having issues with your DPF & SCR and dont want to spend thousands of dollars only to have it fail later on down the road; consider removing it completely and doing a DPF/SCR delete.

    LML SCR DELETE

    The 2011+ Chevy / GMC Durmax LML is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). Removal of the SCR is one of the best things you can do to increase the life of your diesel pickup truck. Improve reliability and dependability by getting rid one of the weakest links on the GM Duramax. Removing the SCR will also make it so you no longer need to run Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The SCR and DPF are deleted together and must be done with a DPF delete capable tuner.
